They hold them well and set them off the wall just enough to not cause any rattling. I don't even know what that means. I do not have the ability to describe speakers that are "crisp" or "warm". I am proud to have them in my living room, not just for the beautiful noise they make, but also for how they look hanging so nicely on the walls. I got these on sale, and if I had the money, I can see spending more on them. I really like the design of the speakers too, with a wrap-around grill and glossy finish on the ends and on the sub.
But they are good, still adjusting my receiver, so it may not be the speakers fault. Not the best. But vocals in movies sound clear and not garbled. Music souns great. I love these speakers. It can do way more then I need, if I need to remove the pictures from my walls in the other room, I can turn it up some more. :) After adjusting the low end output from my receiver and the volume on the pack of the sub, it makes the experience very realistic.
As for the accessories. The wall mounting brackets are better than I was imagining. The subwoofer has a great amount of kick. The high ends are good. The set also comes with wire to run, lots of wire to run.
And these make a wonderful surround set. I am very pleased with it. It is 18gauge, maybe 16, so not the best but it works great. Something Harman Kardon does well.
I am extrmly happy with the speakers and so are everyone else who has listened to them. I can turn up the volume as far as I like and there is no distortion. Great price also. I did a lot of researh (Infinity, Polk Audio etc and these were the best for the size).
Sony STR-DN1000 7.1-Channel Audio Video Receiver (Black) Room is 13X22 feet. My second choice was the Bose 10 system. I adapted the simple Atlantic stand with a small piece of wood. The satellite speakers have an odd angled base that require the use of Harman-Kardon speaker stands, unless you are creative. The power saving feature works very well. In fact it seems too powerful for the satellite speakers.
The case for the sub-woofer is very attractive in an understated way. It does not cry for attention, or mess with room decor. Purchased to work with Sony STR DN1000. I operate at about 1/4 setting for bass. In the old days a speaker that had good sound also had size and mass. I could not get myself to pay double for it as both systems are made in china. Satellite speakers work well, but must be attached.
That has never happened, so you can save money without being concerned about problems. The bass is very nice. You can read how by going to my review for the stand. The Sony manual instructs the user to turn off the power save feature on sub-woofers to avoid having missing bass at odd times. The satellite speakers sound good for the size, construction and cost. Atlantic Satellite 77305018 2 Speaker Stands (Black) The bass can be turned down. Simply setting the speakers on furniture is an accident waiting to happen.Overall this system works very well in my house with the Sony receiver.
All in all, this is a very solid speaker system. I gave the ease of use 4 stars only because the mounts were a little tricky (I bought the matching stands, didnt wall mount them).
The sound you get through these speakers(I paired mine with the pioneer VSX-819H-K receiver, which is awesome too) is just GREAT. I purchased these speakers a month ago,and I have to say I'm very, very impressed.
I went from a 1 year old Samsung HTIB granted, but this system is darn near perfect for the price. Watching Transformers 2 on this in Blu-Ray sounded literally like you were right there.
The sound stays true wether the volume is low or loud, never any static or anything. But that still only took 30 minutes or so nothing too bad.
Highly reccomend these guys.
You dont miss out on any soundtrack from the movie. There definitely is a difference in the sound quality. Previously I had the harman kardon HKTS 15 (step down from this one). The bass produced is amazing and easily fills up the room even when turned up 60% on the bass control knob in the back of the unit.
Used these speakers with harman kardon AVR 254 (delivers true 50 watts per channel). Recently moved into new home wanted to upgrade my surround sound system. The included microphone for EZ setup is also very convenient which fine tunes your system automatically to give you the best sound quality. Friends are impressed every time they come over, even those not too much into movies, get absorbed in the soundtracks just from the experience it creates. These speakers are amazing.
The 200 Watt subwoofer is impressive and looks very sleek. So I would recommend this for your regular movie, music, TV use combined with AVR 254 or better receiver. My living room is about 25x15 feet. Combined with the harman kardon receiver you get crisp and accurate reproduction of soundtracks without distortion even at high volumes. I use them for movies and music.
Watching blue ray movies feels like you are in the movie theater. If you plan on using your system often (movie nights, music, or even TV/sports), you will definitely get your money's worth and will be glad every time you turn on the system. If you are getting the two combined, make sure you have your flat screen.then turn the lights down and be prepared to be blown away.
